Process Pipe Fabrication & Erection

Spools fabricated in a controlled shop, erected in the field by the same contractor that built them.

Moving welds into the shop cuts field hours, improves weld quality, and takes work off the critical path.

Tesecon fabricates process piping spools from isometrics and erects them in the field under one contract. Shop fabrication is done on pipe stands with position welding, which produces a better joint than the same weld made overhead in a rack. Our crews have worked under ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.8 and B31.9, and API 1104, with welders qualified to ASME Section IX.

Field scope covers rigging, alignment, tie-ins, testing and support installation. With fabrication and erection under one contractor, a fit-up problem gets resolved instead of becoming a change order between two parties.

What this includes

Scope of work

Spool fabrication

Shop-welded spools from client isometrics, in the material groups the job specifies.

Field erection

Rigging, setting and tie-in of fabricated spools into greenfield and live systems. Rigging is self-performed; crane service is provided by qualified partners.

Utilities piping

Steam, air, water and other utility systems alongside the process scope.

Pipe supports

Fabrication and installation of shoes, guides, anchors and spring supports.

Power and process codes

B31.1 power piping, B31.3 process piping, B31.8 and B31.9, and API 1104 pipeline welding.

Testing

Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing with documented results.

Tie-ins

Hot work and tie-in execution planned around the plant's outage window.
